CANNABIS‑INFUSED SESAME–GINGER FINISHING OIL
Savory finishing oil • aromatic • precision infusion
USE: Drizzle only — not for high heat cooking
YIELD:
• 1¼ cups infused finishing oil
• ~40 servings (1 tsp each)
────────────────────────
INGREDIENTS
────────────────────────
DECARB & INFUSION
• 5 g dried cannabis flower
• 1 cup neutral oil (grapeseed or avocado oil)
• ¼ cup toasted sesame oil
• 2 Tbsp fresh ginger, thinly sliced
• 1 small garlic clove, smashed (optional, for umami depth)
────────────────────────
STEP 1 — DECARBOXYLATION
────────────────────────
1. Preheat oven to 240°F / 115°C.
2. Break cannabis into pea‑size pieces (do not grind).
3. Spread evenly on parchment‑lined baking tray.
4. Cover loosely with foil.
5. Bake for 40 minutes, shaking tray once halfway.
6. Remove and allow to cool fully.
Purpose: Activates cannabinoids while minimizing terpene loss and bitter flavors.
────────────────────────
STEP 2 — AROMATIC OIL INFUSION
────────────────────────
1. Add neutral oil and toasted sesame oil to a saucepan or double boiler.
2. Heat gently to 160–170°F (70–75°C).
3. Add decarbed cannabis, ginger slices, and garlic (if using).
4. Maintain temperature for 2 hours, stirring gently every 15–20 minutes.
5. Do NOT exceed 180°F and never allow oil to simmer or fry.
6. Remove from heat and let steep 10 minutes.
7. Strain through fine mesh or cheesecloth into a sterile glass container.
8. Cool completely, seal airtight.
Chef note: Finishing oils rely on fragrance — low heat preserves bright ginger and sesame aromatics.

DOSING CALCULATION
────────────────────────
ASSUMPTIONS:
• Flower: 5 g @ 15% THC
• Decarb efficiency: ~90%
• Infusion efficiency: ~65%
CALCULATION:
• 5 × 0.15 × 1000 = 750 mg THC
• Post‑decarb: 675 mg
• Post‑infusion: ≈ 440 mg total THC in oil
SERVING POTENCY:
• 1¼ cups oil ≈ 60 tsp
• 440 mg ÷ 60 ≈ 7 mg THC per tsp
BEGINNER DOSE:
• ½ tsp (~3–4 mg THC)
• Wait a full 2 hours before increasing
────────────────────────
TERPENE & STRAIN PAIRINGS
────────────────────────
BEST MATCH FOR THIS OIL:
• Terpenes: Caryophyllene, Limonene, Pinene
WHY IT WORKS:
• Caryophyllene complements sesame’s savory depth
• Limonene brightens ginger heat
• Pinene keeps finish clean and sharp
STRAIN EXAMPLES:
• Sour Diesel
• Jack Herer
• Lemon Tree
• Durban Poison
Avoid heavy myrcene strains — they muddy aromatics in oil.
────────────────────────
HOW TO USE (GOURMET APPLICATIONS)
────────────────────────
• Drizzle over ramen, udon, or pho just before serving
• Finish dumplings, potstickers, or steamed buns
• Spoon over rice bowls or stir into congee
• Add final gloss to roasted broccoli or green beans
• Brush lightly on sushi rice or avocado toast
IMPORTANT: Do not cook with this oil over medium heat. Heat destroys both cannabinoids and aromatics.
